Who we are

R&N Custom Jewelry and Repair is owned by Rob and Nicole Oakley.

Rob started making jewelry as a hobby 30+ years ago in 8th grade after taking a jewelry class at Chenango Forks High School and won numerous awards throughout his high school career. Upon graduating from high school, he turned that hobby into a professional career through an apprenticeship at Rinker’s Jewelers in NY. When the owners decided to retire, he worked at various stores before settling in with Dave Cunningham at Cunningham’s Jewelry in Binghamton, NY where they offered creative, beautiful pieces of jewelry for 16+ years. Our love for the ocean and the coastal North Carolina area led us to relocate to Sneads Ferry, NC where Rob then worked for a jewelry store in Surf City, NC.

Rob’s passion for jewelry and his craft led him to pursue further education and he attended various courses and seminars. He completed the Advanced Stone Setting workshop with the New Approach School for Jewelers as well as becoming a certified Diamontologist by the Diamond Council of America. Over the last 30 years, Rob has gained invaluable experience in jewelry repair, custom jewelry design, stone setting, and laser welding. Now, we are venturing out on our own to offer our customers the experience, expertise, and passion that Rob has built over the last 30+ years!

Nicole is the “behind the scenes” person taking care of all the business to make sure your jewelry buying experience is the best it can be!
